INTERNET ACCESS: The Internet is actually very fashionable in this country and there are many cafes that offer this service at a very modest fee. POST OFFICE: On 15th Ave and 4th Street.

BANKS: They are all located at the Square and only exchange US currency and US travelers checks. You  can also exchange at the large hotels or some private businesses at different officials rates. TELEPHONE: Just right across from the Post Office is the Phone Company on 15a. Ave and 4a.Calle. There are several others that offer similar services, including Alfa International 15a Ave 3-51 Zona 1, and Arytex, right at Parque Centroamerica. 

LAUNDROMAT: Most first class hotels offer laundry services. We can recommend a couple for the Budget traveler as well: Lavanderia el Centro 15 Ave 3040 Zona 1, Quick Wash 'n' Dry, 7th Street 13-25 "A" Zona 1. They are all open Mon-Sat from 8 to 6 pm, Guatemalan time. 

TOURIST INFORMATION: The Guatemala Tourist Office INGUAT is located next to the Casa de la Cultura to the south of the square.

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE: For non-emergencies,  a local doctor can be recommended by the hotel, travel agency or friendly resident.. Dr. Lilian Mejia at 14 Ave A 0-27 Zone 3 is recommended.  But for serious problems, Guatemala City has much to offer in the way of medical services.  Many are English-speaking and/or American-trained doctors.
