Kayaks and canoes can be rented at Lake
Atitlan, the Montericco nature
preserve, and the Rio Dulce area. There are also
tour operators that can take you to the best rivers for kayaking and canoeing

FISHING:
The most popular fishing spots in Guatemala are Lake Izabal and the Pacific
Ocean. Boats are available for rent at Lake Izabal, though you should
probably bring your own gear, as it can be difficult to find. Deep-sea
fishing on the Pacific coast can be arranged through tour operators.

SAILING AND BOATING:
One of the best places for sailing and boating is the
Rio Dulce area, from Lake Izabal all the
way up to Belize. You'll easily be able to charter a boat, with or without
a guide. There are also marinas where you can dock your own boat.
Another marina where you can dock your own boat is in San Jose, on the
Pacific coast.
There are also many lakes in Guatemala suitable for sailing or motor
boating: Lake Atitlán, Lake
Izabal, Lake Amatitlán, Lake Petén Itzá
and Lake Petexbatún.
Many of the tour agencies offer sailing charter trips, ranging from a day to
six days. You are almost sure to find flyers on the bulletin boards at
Doña Luisa´s in Antigua.
