Guatemala is a wonderful place for bird watching. There are over 800
varieties of birds, with more than two thirds of those being native
species.
The best place to see birds are the national parks, reserves and ruins, such
as: the Mario Dary Quetzal Reserve, Monterrico-Hawaii
Biotope, Rio Dulce
National Park, Tikal National Park
the nearby Maya Biosphere Reserve, and
the Quiriguá ruins.
Many of the tour groups offer birding trips.
