Joyabaj is one of the most
beautiful towns
in the area, but there are no good hotels. However, you can find some basic inexpensive
pensiones. Usually the town is one main street , and the North side is
called arriba and the South side is abajo. People are nice and polite,
and they are hard workers. Market day is one of the biggest in the area, and very
colorful with very few tourists. The people from here are called Xoy and they
are very friendly. You can ask at the Centro Xoy if you can stay with a
family, since the Hotels or pensiones are very basic.
