INFORMATION ON SAN
LUCAS TOLIMAN IN LAKE ATITLAN GUATEMALA
This village is more
commercial than the others. The local people process coffee from the
surrounding villages and do mechanical work on trucks.
San Lucas Tolimán’s church
dates back to colonial times. The village has many traditional houses made
of rock or bamboo. There is a small village nearby, Cerro de Oro, that
also has a colonial church.
How
to get here: You can take a boat on market days from
Panajachel. There are several buses from Guatemala; just take one via Panajachel
and from
Santiago there are buses every hour or so. See
