The Actun Kan and Jobitzinaj Caves are located right outside of Flores.  Legend has it that the Actun Klan Cave was the home to a giant serpent, and is sometimes called La Cueva de la Serpiente.  This cave has some lights, and rock formations of animals can be seen as well as a waterfall, bats, and the stalactites and stalagmites.

For those who want to explore the Jobitizinaj Caves, you must bring your own flashlight, as there are no lights. This smaller cave has not yet been developed as far as lighting or tours.  

How to get there: The Actun Kan and Jobitzinaj Caves can be reached either by foot (about an hour's walk), by taxi from Flores, or by contacting one of the tour operators.
