Rio Dulce, sometimes known as "El Relleno,"
(which covers the village Fronteras also) is the
most popular spot for tourists to spend the night at Lake Izabal. It is a
good place to rent a boat to explore the lake or river and there are plenty of
tourist services.

HOW TO GET HERE:
There is not a direct bus to the starting points of the lake. To El
Relleno, you can get a bus from Guatemala City to Puerto Barrios and get
off at La Ruidosa junction where you catch another bus heading to the
bridge. From
Guatemala City we recommend to take the Litegua Bus at 15a. Calle 10-30
Zone 1,Tel: 253-8169. It is good, first class and comfortable, and
it is a 5 hour
ride. Click here
