CHIANTLA

The tiny village of Chiantla attracts pilgrims from all over the country who come to see the spectacular Virgen del Rosario contained in the church.  Enclosed in a glass case, the virgin is dressed in priceless silver and adornments.

During Colonial times, Chiantla was one of the richest silver-mining centers in Guatemala.
