One of three Sacatepèquez villages, Santiago Sacatepèquez lies about 13 miles (20 kms) from Guatemala City, along one of the roads to Antigua.  The village is known for its kite flying exposition on November 1st.  The kites are huge - some up to 10 feet long - and the festival is a lot of fun.  Highly recommended if you're in the area on November 1st. 

How to get here:  Santiago Sacatepèquez can be reached either by car or by bus from the Zone 4 terminal in Guatemala City.  You can also catch a bus from Zone 9 at the corner of 2a. Avenida and 2a. Calle.
