RENTALS

BIKE RENTALNot recommended

CAR RENTALTo rent a car in the high season is difficult (for instance, during Semana Santa (Holy Week) and around Christmas, or in month of August). It is wise to book your car in advance and remember that this requires a credit card, passport and driver license. Also, in general, the insurance does not cover all losses; you will still be liable for at least 1000 dollars. Here are some car rental companies: Avis 12 Calle 2-73 Zona 9 Tel: 331-2750, Budget International Airport Tel: 332-2024, Dollar Rent a Car at International Airport Tel: 331-7185, American Rental System 6a Ave 3-95 Zona 9 Tel: 361-5621 Tabarini 2a Calle A 7-30 Zona 10 Tel: 331-9814, Thrifty Car Rental Ave Reforma 8-33 Zona 10 Tel: 332-1130, Hertz 7a Ave 14-76 Zona 9 Tel: 332-2242, Nationa Inter Rent 12 Calle Montufar 7-69 Zona 9, Gada 7a Ave 14-76 Zona 9 Tel: 334-2540, Fanny's Renta Auto International Airport La Aurora Tel: 339-3812, Tally Renta Autos 7a Ave 14-60 Zona 1 Tel: 251-4113.

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE: For non-emergencies, going to a local doctor recommended by the hotel, travel agency or friendly resident is your best bet.  But for serious problems, Guatemala City has much to offer in the way of medical services.  Many are English-speaking and/or American-trained doctors.
