Located about 10 kilometers from Lanquìn, Semuc Champey is one of the most
beautiful spots in Guatemala. A natural limestone bridge, 300 meters long,
and a series of freshwater pools running along its length, make Semuc
Champey well worth the effort to get there. The pools, ranging in color
from turquoise to emerald green, are fresh-water and warm to swim in.
Camping is also available.
You will find a large variety of butterflies
HOW TO GET HERE: Buses leaves from Coban at 5am, 7am and 3pm to
Lanquin Caves. Then look for a truck, or sometimes a bus, that goes to Champey.
Walking is not recommended, as it is long and hot. It is
much easier to take a
bus. There are several tour operators that offer this service. Click
