Located 63 kilometers from Cobàn, the Lanqún Cave is a national park
consisting of endless caverns, some of which are lit with electric lamps.
You may also bring your own flashlights and explore on your own.
Stone alters are located about 100 meters inside the cave. These alters
have been used by Mayans for centuries and are still used today for sacred
ceremonial rituals which include the burning of copal incense and the blood
sacrifice of chickens.
HOW TO GET HERE: Buses leaves from Coban at 5am,
7am and 3pm, returning the same day. Besides that you can take a bus, and there
are several tour operators that offer services. Click

ACCOMMODATIONS: There
are only hotels from $0 to $15 for a double room; usually they charge per
person. Here are some: El Recreo Hotel, recommended. It is more
expensive, but more comfortable. La Divina Providencia is more
basic.
