A short drive or a long walk from Antigua, San
Antonio Aguas Calientes is famous for its beautiful textiles.
If you're planning on buying huipils or other textiles, you should check out
the public market, where you'll find a wide variety and a lot of good
work.

Particularly beautiful are the geometric patterns of animals and
flowers. Weaving lessons are also available, given by the local women.
Just before you start coming down to the town, at the summit, stop at Carolina's
house you will have a nice view of the town to take pictures as well

These huipils are one of the most famous in the country and the village's
weaving is considered to be the finest in all Guatemala. One peculiar thing
about this huipils is that they are two faced weave that produces an identical

How to get there: San
Antonio Aguas Calientes is about 5 miles southwest of Antigua. You can
make the walk, passing first through Ciudad Vieja, in about two hours.
Public buses are also available at the market in Antigua.
