ANTIGUA WHAT TO DO AND SEE

HIKING AND VOLCANO CLIMBING: Cerro de la Cruz, only a 20 minute walk from the north side of the city, and you can enjoy a wonderful view of Antigua. Besides the small hiking on the outskirts of the city, Antigua has three volcanoes Agua, Acatenango and Fuego which require at least a one day trip to climb each volcano.

See the perfect shape of the Agua volcano

Of the three, Agua ( 12,356 feet) is the easiest to climb. From its summit you can see south across the coastal plain, as well as a group of volcanoes stretching from Mexico to El Salvador. Acatenango (13,042 feet) lies in the southwest of Antigua, as does Fuego (12,343 feet) which are both on and off in eruptions. For serious Volcano climbers, get more pictures and information by clicking here.
